O melhor curso na melhor universidade para você
On our BA (Hons) Drama and Film Studies, youâ??ll explore the latest theory and practice in both fields, but most importantly, our focus on practical work will give you a taste of what itâ??s like to work as a modern performance practitioner, both in front of and behind the camera. Youâ??ll be introduced to the languages and conventions of drama and film, taking in some of the key movements in their history, from Hollywood cinema to more experimental films and modes of performance. Your learning will be backed up by practical workshops as well as visits to venues and festivals, giving you first-hand experience of two different sides of performance: as both a means of expression and as an industry. Youâ??ll also use your learning to create your own innovative projects, designing, directing and performing in large-scale performances as well as experimenting with the principles of filmmaking. Whether you choose to specialise in stage or film practice, or a combination of both, youâ??ll have the chance to see your work aired in public venues including Cambridge Arts Picturehouse, our own Mumford Theatre and other commercial venues in the city. On our optional modules you can explore your own interests further, with subjects including documentary film theory, new media performance and animation. You can also take up the opportunity of work experience in your chosen profession. Our close links with local organisations, including Cambridge Film Festival and Cambridge Junction, can help you make contact with industry leaders in professional environments, both backstage and front of house. Throughout the course, your studies will be supported by our team of expert lecturers, and a close community of students and alumni, fostered through our dedicated Drama Facebook group* and Film Studies Facebook group / YouTube channel. We also have a Facebook group dedicated to helping you find work experience on film and video projects. *To join the Drama Facebook group, please contact the Course Leader after registering in Welcome Week.
