The Forensic Investigation (Interpersonal Violence) programme provides you with the opportunity to develop a critical understanding of the theory and practice of various aspects of forensic investigations and interpersonal violence and apply them critically to contemporary crime problems and criminal justice scenarios. You will gain a solid grounding in the core areas of forensic investigation, crime scene investigation, forensic science and interpretation of evidence while also examining the role, operation, regulation and limitations of forensic investigation and interpersonal violence investigation within the criminal justice system in the UK and globally. The degree will provide you with a critical understanding of the theory, practice and operational deployment of the range of resources required for effective forensic investigation of crime scenarios and interpersonal violence in the UK and globally and will develop an appreciation of the multiagency and multidisciplinary nature of forensic & interpersonal violence investigations. Our teaching staff have practiced extensively in the field of forensic investigation and the programme also features guest lecturers and support from a range of practitioners currently working in the field. Through the practical content of the course you will opportunity to develop the skills required to pursue a career in forensic investigation, criminal investigation or other areas of the criminal justice system.
