O melhor curso na melhor universidade para você

Social Work is a profession requires the dual skills of being a critical thinker and practical doer. We will help to develop your professional identity, preparing you for a rapidly changing work and social environment, transferring social work values, ethics, knowledge and skills to the everyday situations and contexts in which social workers practise. The programme actively involves both service users and carers within teaching and learning. We also have strong partnerships with local statutory agencies, including Coventry City Council, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council, as well many organisations in the voluntary and independent sectors. These contacts often provide placements, enabling you to gain valuable work experience with the likes of Age UK, Victims Support, Children and Young people, Adoption, Learning Disability or Mental Health. The course encompasses lectures, seminars, skills development sessions, professional development groups and â??Action Learning Setsâ??, in which you work in small groups to solve real issues together and reflect on your experiences. Through these different approaches, the programme allows you to understand the interaction of social structures and human behaviour and the way these act as causes of social distress and exclusion. For example, you may be required to support a young person with learning disabilities to access community facilities, thereby dealing with issues at the immediate individual or family level. Alternatively, you could be working with unaccompanied asylum seeking children, tackling problems faced on an international scale. You may have opportunities to put theory into practice on placements in a range of social work and care settings, dealing with real-life situations and learning hands-on alongside experienced practitioners. Placement organisations in the past have included the NSPCC, Youth Justice Service, Childrenâ??s Social Care and Fostering and Adoption services. Youâ??ll be taught by experienced academics, practitioners and researchers who have published and researched extensively, in areas such as social work ethics, health and gender inequalities, personalisation, prevention of hate crimes, childrenâ??s rights, social work career frameworks, social work and globalisation, educational attainment and service user engagement. Key Course Benefits Accreditation and Professional Recognition This course is accredited and recognised by: Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) This programme is subject to the rules and requirements of the professional body, the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) and prepares students for critical and reflective professional practice as according to the HCPCâ??s approval standards, and the British Association of Social Workâ??s Professional Capabilities Framework. On successful completion, you will be able to apply to register with the HCPC to practice as a professional social worker. We also encourage you as students to become members of the British Association of Social Work.
