O melhor curso na melhor universidade para você
Why choose this course In todayâ??s competitive world, all industrial sectors are under growing pressure to deliver better products, reduce design and production lead times, improve reliability and lower costs. Improving production processes and systems often provides the means for them to do these things and more, increasing the demand for specialists in control system design and implementation. This professionally accredited course aims to provide a solid understanding of the principles underlying the operation of manual and automated control systems, including classical systems and the modern intelligent systems, such as artificial intelligence. We will explore a range of control applications used in various mechanical systems, including proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) control and robotics, which now has widespread use domestically, commercially and in the military. We aim to develop the intellectual, technical and professional skills required to design, analyse and simulate control systems. Teaching is practical in nature with laboratory sessions in specialist software, including Matlab/Simulink, LabVIEW and Maple, and project work based on real-life situations to gain familiarity of methods and techniques. Following simulation studies students will be able to deploy their control systems on specialist control teaching hardware from Bytronic Ltd and Quanser. Project work are based on real-life either from our industrial partners or to support on-going research project in the area of automotive control systems, cooperative and autonomous vehicles, preventive maintenance applied to medical devices to gain familiarity of methods and techniques studied in the course. The multidisciplinary nature of the subject is mirrored by the industrial experience of our teaching staff who have worked as engineers and R&D Scientists at various companies such as Jaguar Land Rover and conduct research activity covering control for automotive, health rehabilitation, robotics, and power systems applications, to mention a few. Academic staff also have rich collaboration and network with other universities in the UK and abroad. Each year, members of our Industrial Advisory Board and other local industrial partners, such as JLR and Horiba-MIRA, are invited to the Postgraduate Control Systems Engineering Project Open Day. As well as offering a number of industry sponsored prizes to reward outstanding achievement, this event provides a unique opportunity to network with future employers and demonstrate your capabilities.
